Studio 908 is the shortened name for my small practice focusing on custom residential projects. After relocating to Sarasota in ‘22 and finishing my career as a commercial architect working remotely I started this practice to focus on what has become my passion: custom residential projects. I’m especially interested in mid-century revival residential design.

My first Florida design project was planning our own home located on a narrow infill lot facing Gillespie Park on the edge of Sarasota’s downtown. While many people tell nightmarish stories of their custom house projects, including schedule and cost overruns, our experience was just the opposite, despite pandemic supply chain issues.

The smoothness of our build, despite us being several states away, is no doubt largely due to the skill and dedication of our builder. However it’s also a reflection of the carefully planned design, attention to detail, and thorough communication with the construction team, a win-win experience from our perspective.​

Though I’ve sold my interest in the Virginia based commercial practice I helped form, I’m not ready to walk away from the profession. I hope this next chapter in my career will help clients achieve the project success we experienced with our own custom home build.
